Thursday, October 2 nd
A Walk Down Memory Lane at the Tribeca Film Institute
Arrival at 1:30 pm
We're taking a Walk Down Memory Lane at the Tribeca Film Institute in Manhattan ! It's a major film making center that contributes to the long-term recovery of lower Manhattan . We are going to view fragments of movies and shorts projected on the silver screen and then we will join in a discussion panel to reflect on what we saw. This annual event was founded in 2002 to celebrate New York City as a major filmmaking center, and it's sure to be a great time!

Monday, October 6 th
National Pasta Month

Buon Giorno! October is National Pasta Month and so in honor of it, we're celebrating our Italian Heritages. We'll start off the day by learning some conversational Italian listen to some classic Italian love songs, learn about how pasta is made and then we'll build a model house from raw pasta pieces.

Join us as we welcome back one of our favorite musical entertainment duets! This Clarinet and Piano duo will certainly get you dancing in your seats as they play songs reminiscent of old standards, Broadway tunes and selections from the 1950's through the 1970's. Stop by for a great concert!

Columbus Day
All Day
In remembrance of Christopher Columbus discovering America , today will be a patriotic theme through and through. We encourage everyone to wear red, white or blue and we'll have activities and contests throughout the day. Team Nina wears Red, Team Pinta wears White, and Team Santa Maria wears Blue.

We'll also satisfy our snack attack by making some festive Christopher Columbus Cupcakes and expanding our minds with a Columbus Day Word Find! Set sail for a good time!

Residence Council Meeting

The Resident Council Meeting is a great opportunity to voice your opinions and suggestions. We'll run through our calendar of events, discuss Recreation, Housing, Nursing, Dietary and Maintenance. Your opinion counts, so please come and share with us!

Friday, October 17 th
Oktoberfest

We're celebrating Oktoberfest in true style and fashion! We'll enjoy warm mulled cider, Cinnamon Sugar donuts, O'Douls Beer, and a variety of apples to enjoy. Have fun, because today is all about eating, drinking and being merry!

Music with Mary Stella

Let's see some toes tappin'! This musical entertainment will be sure to get you dancing in your seat. Feel free to sing along with some of your old time favorites, or just come by and watch a great live performance. This is a concert you won't want to miss!

Fall Festival

Today we'll celebrate the Season of autumn with a fun Fall Festival! We'll make decorative centerpieces that we will display throughout our community, decorate for our upcoming Halloween party, do some leaf arts and crafts and when we're finished, we'll enjoy some warm apple cider and donuts!

October Birthday Party

Today we celebrate everyone who celebrates their birthday in October! Come for a slice of cake, a scoop of ice cream and a fine rendition of Happy Birthday!

Thursday, October 30 th
Halloween Party

Trick or treat! There's no better way to celebrate Halloween than by dressing up in costumes and eating sweets, so join us today for our Halloween Party. Today, we will paint pumpkins and enjoy some seasonal snacks. And then, we'll enjoy sampling a variety of candies as well as make our own chocolates.  We encourage everyone to dress in costume; prizes will be awarded for the most creative ones. As always, families are both welcome and encouraged to celebrate with us!

Feel free to hit the snooze button today, it's OK to roll over. This national day is sponsored by the Procrastinators of America, so don't be surprised if you see our activities starting a little late. And that's something you can set your watch to.

National Grandparent's Day
Today we celebrate the most special members of a family lineage – the Grandparents! Join us as we reflect on what it means to be a grandparent, through stories and poems. Families and especially grandchildren are encouraged to spend time with us today. It'll be a GRAND ol' time!

Tuesday, September 9 th
“As Time Goes By” musical entertainment

Pumpkin Celebration
Today is completely dedicated to this glorious gourd. Join us as we learn about the History of the Annual Morton Pumpkin Festival in Morton , IL . We'll also have fun with a pumpkin recipe, pumpkin trivia, and pumpkin crafts. Bring yourself or bring friends… just don't tell Cinderella. She might try to hitch a ride to the ball in one of our pumpkins!

It's a perfect time to make some space in our closets for the bulky clothes of this upcoming winter. Families are encouraged to join us as we sort through our friends' clothes. And when you're done, we'll celebrate all of you hard work with a pizza party and a raffle. We'll bet you never thought organizing would be this much fun!
