The Hearthstone Alzheimer Care Each Hearthstone residence accepts a small number of day clients who participate in activities along with the full-time residents so that people with cognitive impairment can live at home with their families and still have the advantage of the Hearthstone treatment program. Daytime visitors generally attend from nine in the morning until three in the afternoon, but we are very flexible. Longer, shorter or different hours are available. While most day clients attend during the work week, weekend hours are also available. Working families find this flexibility very convenient. Our program offers clients the opportunity to engage in meaningful and enjoyable activities in a social setting, allowing each individual to function at his or her highest attainable level. Many people find the rhythm of coming and going each day gives their lives the same structure they had when they went to work; this helps people with dementia and their families maintain a sense of normalcy that can erode when people stay home every day.
