I Remember Better When I Paint is the first international documentary about the positive impact of art and other creative therapies on people with Alzheimer's.It was originally presented in Paris, France, and has recently been shown to large audiences in New York City and Boston. Attendees have been very moved and inspired by its positive message and how the approaches depicted in the film can change the way we look at the disease.
The film’s focus is on the use of the creative arts as successful treatment for the symptoms of dementia It emphasizes the use of creativity and culture to add meaning to the lives of persons living with this disease. Many types of cultural interactions are featured, including the creation of art as well as visits to art museums and other cultural institutions.
Many noted doctors and researchers appear in the film,
as well as YasminAga Khan, President of Alzheimer's
Disease International and daughter of Rita Hayworth,
who had Alzheimer's.
